- Approving a pending applicationFor levels that need approval, a new member stays Pending until staff click Approve on their record. Once approved and paid, the membership becomes Active.Guide
- Branding your membership cardSet the name, colours, logos and artwork on your members' wallet cards, and check how the card looks on an iPhone and on Android.GuideAdmins only

- Building your renewal questionsChoose what members are asked while they renew, how often each question is asked, who sees it and what an answer does, then publish the set as a new version.GuideAdmins only
- Changing a member's levelMove a member to another level of the same type, either at their next renewal or immediately, with the price difference invoiced or handled by your downgrade rule.Guide
- Checking members in at the doorScan membership cards and event tickets or find people by name in Check-in mode, which keeps working without a signal once the door list is downloaded.Guide
- Choosing how memberships renewSet your default term (anniversary, fixed date or rolling monthly), the renewal window, grace period, good-standing rules, level-change and reinstatement rules in Terms & renewal rules.GuideAdmins only
- Creating an eventSet up an event with its dates, place, who can register, a price for each membership level, and any continuing-education credits, then publish it.Guide
- Emailing event attendees and exporting registrationsSend one email to everyone registered for a published event, or download the registrations as a CSV file. Both are recorded in the audit log.Guide
- Finding members and acting on a group of themSearch and filter the Members list by status tab, level and good standing, then select rows to send a renewal, email, create tasks or export.Guide
- Inviting your teamInvite colleagues by name and work email from Users & roles, and choose whether each is an Org admin or an Org editor.GuideAdmins only
- Overriding a member's status or good standingSet a member's status to Active or Lapsed, or their good standing in or out, by hand when the facts cannot express it. An override needs a reason, stays until cleared, and is written to the audit log.Guide
- Printing renewal notices with a codeFor members email does not reach, print renewal notices from Renewals. Each has the amount, a web address and a code to renew online, and a slip to return with a cheque.Guide
- Recording a payment that didn't come through the websiteLog a cheque, e-Transfer, cash or other payment against an open invoice, from the member record or Dues & invoices.Guide

Fixing problems
- A member renewed but still shows as dueA membership only renews when its renewal invoice is paid in full or staff renew it — check the renewal invoice, the review queue and any override.Troubleshooting
- A member says their renewal link doesn't workCheck the Renewal link panel on the member record. A link that has been used shows the confirmation, one past the grace period has expired, and a revoked one is replaced by the next notice.Troubleshooting
- A member says they never got their renewal noticeCheck the member's timeline for the notices sent and the address they went to, and the Renewals queue for bounces and skipped notices.Troubleshooting
- A member sees "Online payment is not available yet"Members cannot take card payments yet, so a member who opens their renewal link sees the amount but no way to pay online. Take the payment another way and record it.Troubleshooting
- A member's card still shows the old detailsCheck the card's state on the Membership cards page. A card never added cannot change, and a card marked Update failed needs reissuing.Troubleshooting
- A member's status is wrongStatus is calculated from term dates, approval, payment of the joining invoice, suspension, resignation and closure — find which fact is off rather than typing a status.Troubleshooting
- Check-in mode says the door list isn't downloaded, or check-ins are waiting to sendCheck-in mode works without a signal only after it has downloaded the door list on that device. Check-ins made offline wait on the device until you send them.Troubleshooting
Questions
- Can a member's membership renew automatically? Not yet. Auto-renew needs a card stored on the membership, and Members cannot store cards until card payments are connected.FAQ
- Can people get an Apple Wallet ticket for an event?Yes, if membership cards are set up and turned on. Turn on Offer a ticket for Apple Wallet on the event, and people who register online can add a ticket from their confirmation page.FAQ
- Can we issue tax receipts for membership dues?Only a registered charity can turn on tax receipts for dues, level by level, and the advantage a member receives reduces or removes the eligible amount.FAQAdmins only
- Do members need an account to renew? No. Members renew from the link in their renewal notice. To see or change their contact details they enter a six-digit code emailed to them. There is no password.FAQ
- Does a member's card update when things change?Yes. Renewals, level changes, lapses, suspensions and branding changes are sent to the card the member already has, so nobody adds a second one.FAQ
- How do household and organizational memberships work? One membership, one renewal date and one invoice covering several people — a household lists the people in it, an organization holds seats you assign to named people.FAQ
- How do I export members?Export from the Members page header to get everything the list is showing, or tick members and use Export on the action bar. Both download a CSV, and every export is recorded in the audit log.FAQ
- How do I read the audit log?Organization Settings → Audit log is a permanent record of sign-ins, user and role changes, settings changes, bulk exports and sends, and 2Labs support access. Filter it, and export it as CSV.FAQAdmins only
- How do I revoke a member's renewal link?An Org admin can revoke a live renewal link from the Renewal link panel on the member record. It stops working everywhere, along with any printed code, and the next notice carries a new link.FAQAdmins only
- How does event pricing work with membership levels? You set a price per membership level plus a non-member price, and Members charges each registrant the rate for the level they hold if they are in good standing.FAQ
- What are the things under "Needs you today"?Tasks opened by Smart nudges when something across the membership needs attention, plus tasks Members raises about individual members and tasks your team adds.FAQ
- What can an editor do that an admin can't, and the other way round?Org editors do the day-to-day work with members, renewals, payments, events and sends; Org admins can also change Organization Settings and manage users.FAQ
- What does "good standing" mean?A calculated flag on every membership — current status, no suspension and no overdue dues — that member pricing, members-only events and membership cards read.FAQ
- What does a lapsed member see for a members-only event? They can see the event, but registration needs a membership in good standing, so they are told the event is for members and shown how to renew.FAQ
- What does Email consent on a member record mean? The Email consent panel lists the consent Members holds to email this person, whether each is Live or Expired, and when it runs out. With no live consent, sends skip them.FAQ
- What happens when 2Labs support looks at our organization?2Labs support can enter your organization for up to 60 minutes, read-only unless they give a reason to enable changes. Every step is in your audit log, with the reason.FAQAdmins only
- What happens when a membership lapses? The member loses good standing and their card stops working, but the record and history stay, and staff bring them back with Reinstate.FAQ
- What happens when you cancel an event?Registration closes, the public page says the event is cancelled and wallet tickets are voided. Registrations are kept, nobody is emailed, nothing is refunded and it cannot be undone.FAQ
- What's on the back of the membership card, and what is the barcode?Members adds the member number, level, term, benefits, a renewal link and a privacy line; you add contact details, lost-phone wording, a privacy link and terms. The optional barcode is a signed code, not the member number.FAQAdmins only
- What's on the Dues & invoices page?Every dues invoice, with tabs by status, a total of what is outstanding, and a card comparing taxable dues billed over the last four quarters with the GST/HST small-supplier threshold.FAQ
- What's the difference between anniversary and calendar renewal?Anniversary gives each member their own renewal date based on when they joined; Fixed date renews everyone on one common date, such as January 1 for a calendar year.FAQ
- What's the difference between Membership history and Timeline?Membership history lists changes to the membership itself, with the status before and after, the reason and who did it. Timeline lists everything that happened with the member, including the exact emails they were sent.FAQ
- When do continuing-education credits get added? When the attendee is checked in at the event, not when they register. Undoing a check-in or cancelling the registration withdraws them.FAQ
- Where do I find things in Members? The left menu holds Home, Members, Renewals, Dues & invoices, Groups, Events, Communications and Reports, with Organization Settings and Help & guides pinned at the bottom.FAQ
- Who gets a membership card on a household or organizational membership? Each person on the membership gets their own card in their own name — everyone on a household, and each person in a seat on an organizational membership.FAQ
- Why are some renewal answers waiting for review?A renewal lands in the review queue when an answer is flagged for review, or when staff renewed for a member who still has to make a declaration. You approve, ask for more, or reject.FAQ
- Why can't our Android members add their card yet?Google reviews each organization before members can save a card to Google Wallet, and until it approves yours Android members are not shown the button.FAQ
