No. A member opens the link in their renewal notice, answers any renewal questions, and pays. No account or password is involved.
The link alone shows only what the renewal notice already said: their first name, level, renewal date and the amount. To see or update their contact details and past invoices, the member clicks See my details and enters a six-digit code emailed to them. The code is sent only to an address already on the membership, and expires in 10 minutes.
Because the link shows nothing private, a member can forward their notice to the person who pays, such as an office manager or treasurer.
If more than one person on the membership shares an email address, they are asked Who is this? and choose their name after entering the code.
If online payment is not set up, the member is asked to contact your organization to renew.
Members who prefer to can renew by phone or post. Staff record it with Renew for member — see Renewing on a member's behalf. For a member who does not use email, choose Print notice with code on Renewals to post them a notice.
