Both are one membership with more than one person on it. One payment and one renewal date cover everyone, and each person keeps their own record. The type is set on the level, and a level's type cannot change once it has members.

Household — a primary member and the people linked to them. On the member record, the Household section lists everyone. Click Add a person to add someone; they are covered from then on. Click Remove next to anyone except the Primary member to take them off.

Organizational — a member organization holding a set number of seats, set by Seats included on the level. The Primary contact takes the first seat and manages the rest. On the member record, the Seats section shows how many are taken:

  • Assign a seat adds a person. Turn on Make them the primary contact to hand that role to them.
  • Vacate frees a seat. The person's history is kept.
  • May renew lets a seat holder pay the organization's renewal from their own sign-in.
  • Add seats appears if the level has Allow extra seats turned on. Extra seats are invoiced now at the level's extra-seat price and billed again at each renewal.

When every seat is taken, Assign a seat is unavailable. Vacate a seat or add seats first.

Each person on a household or organizational membership can be sent their own membership card from the Membership cards section of the record, and is treated as a member for event pricing while the membership is in good standing.
