The Email consent panel on the member record shows the basis Members has for emailing this person. Each entry shows its type, a Live or Expired pill, and when it Runs out or Ran out, or No expiry.
- Implied by membership — recorded once a membership becomes active, and renewed when it renews or is reinstated. It runs out a set number of months after the membership ends. Set that in Organization Settings → Terms & renewal rules, under Email consent lasts, months after membership ends. The clock starts from the end of the term, or from the date of a resignation. A life membership's implied consent has no expiry while it lasts.
- Express consent — given by the member themselves, for example by answering yes to a consent question in their renewal.
If the person has no live consent, the panel says "No live consent. Sends skip this person and count them as skipped." Renewal notices and other sends skip them, and the results show them as skipped because email consent has run out.
If the panel says "No consent recorded. A membership records it once it becomes active.", the membership is usually still Pending.
Someone who asked not to be emailed shows Asked not to be emailed under Contact. Renewing does not opt them back in. Answering no to an email consent question in a renewal withdraws their consent.
