The Membership cards page lists every person who has a card or is waiting for one. It shows whether they have added it to their phone, and lets you send the link again, reissue a card or void one.

Before you start

  • Membership cards must be turned on. If they are not, the page says so and an Org admin can set them up in Organization Settings.

Steps

  1. Go to Members and click Membership cards.
  2. Read the strip at the top: Cards issued, On a phone, Never added and Needs a look.
  3. Use the tabs to narrow the list: All, On a phone, Never added, Waiting on Google, Expired or voided, Update failed. You can also search by name or email.
  4. Tick the cards you want to act on. The action bar appears at the bottom.
  5. Choose an action:
    • Send the link again — emails each selected member a link to add their card. The bar tells you beforehand how many will actually get it.
    • Reissue — for a lost or replaced phone. Enter a reason and click Reissue.
    • Void — ends the card. Enter a reason and click Void.

What happens next

Send the link again skips anyone who already holds their card, has no email address, asked not to be emailed, or has no active membership. The message afterwards says how many were sent and why the rest were skipped.

Reissue stops the old card working at once, on every phone, and refuses its code from that moment. Members with an email address are emailed the link to add the new card; anyone who cannot be emailed will need telling another way.

Void stops the card working at once on every phone it is on. The membership is not affected, and the member can add a new card whenever they like.

Reasons for reissuing and voiding must be at least five characters and are recorded in the audit log.

What each card state means:

  • On a phone — on an iPhone, Members knows the card is installed. On Android, Members only knows the member opened their Add to Google Wallet link.
  • Never added — a card was made and the member has not added it.
  • Waiting on Google — the member wanted an Android card while Google was still reviewing your organization. They are emailed when it clears.
  • Expired — the membership lapsed. Renewing brings the same card back.
  • Voided — ended by staff, or because the membership was suspended or closed.
  • Update failed — a change could not be put onto the card, so it may show old details. Reissue it, or tell 2Labs if several are failing.

Below the list, Take-up by level shows, for each level, how many active members carry their card. Where cards get scanned shows scans in the last 90 days: event doors, card checks by staff, and refused scans.
