When you create or edit an event, Pricing by membership level has one row per level plus a Non-members row. Each row has a Price, a Tax code and an optional Cap on how many places sell at that rate.

When someone registers, Members works out their price from who they are:

  • A member in good standing pays the price for their own level. Nobody chooses their own rate.
  • A member who is not in good standing pays the non-member price. On an open event they are told the public rate applies and shown how to renew.
  • Someone who registers without confirming who they are is priced as a non-member.
  • A level with no price of its own pays the non-member price. So does any level you create later.

If the places at someone's rate have run out, they see There are no places left at your rate. If the event is full, they see This event is full.

Staff registering someone with Add registration, or selling a ticket at the door, get the same price worked out for them.

The Tickets & pricing tab on the event shows each rate with its price, tax, cap, how many have sold and the revenue. Prices can be changed from Edit; what has already been paid does not change.

Tickets are taxed by the tax code on each row. A registered charity can enter Value of what an attendee receives so the part of a ticket above it can be receipted. Otherwise tickets are not receipted.
