Yes. Whenever a membership changes, Members works out what each card on it should now say and sends the change to the card already on the member's phone. The member does not add a new one.
- A member renews or is reinstated — the term dates on the card move forward, and a voided card becomes valid again.
- A member changes level — the level on the card changes.
- A membership lapses, is suspended, ends or is still pending — the card is voided. Its status reads Not valid, a note on the back says why, and a scan of it is refused. On an iPhone the voided card is greyed out; on Android it moves to Expired passes.
- A person comes off a household or a seat — their card is voided.
- You change the card's branding — every card already issued takes the change.
- Cards are turned off — every card already issued becomes invalid.
Valid until on the card is the day the membership expires. The card keeps working through the grace period after that, so a member whose renewal is still being sorted out can still use it. While a member is in grace, the card's status reads Renewal overdue. A life member's card shows Life member instead of a date.
You can see each card's state and when it was last changed on Members → Membership cards, and in the Membership cards panel on the member record.
