To cancel a published event, open it and click Cancel this event… under Details on the Overview tab. Give a reason and click Cancel the event. The reason is recorded in the audit log.
When you cancel:
- Registration closes, and the public page says This event has been cancelled.
- Every registration is kept on record.
- Nobody is emailed. If you want to tell people, use Email attendees before you cancel, because the button is gone afterwards.
- Nothing is refunded automatically. Refund anyone who paid with your payment processor.
- Any wallet tickets are voided. The back of a voided ticket says the event has been cancelled and asks the person to contact you. Their confirmation page says This event was cancelled and that the ticket is no longer valid. If they paid, it tells them you will be in touch about their payment.
The event page then shows This event was cancelled. Registrations are kept; any wallet tickets have been voided.
Cancelling cannot be undone. A cancelled event cannot be edited or published again, and Email attendees, Export, View public page and Check-in mode no longer show. To run it on another date, create a new event.
Only a published event can be cancelled. A draft has no public page and nobody can register for it.
