Invite colleagues to sign in to your organization, and choose whether each is an Org admin or an Org editor.
Before you start
- You need to be an Org admin.
- Decide each person's role. Org editor does the day-to-day work. Org admin can also change Organization Settings and manage users.
Steps
- Go to Organization Settings → Users & roles and click Invite a user.
- Enter their Name and Work email. Use the address they will sign in with.
- Choose a Role: Org editor or Org admin.
- Click Send invitation.
What happens next
They are emailed an invitation with a link to the sign-in page. There is no password to set: they sign in with a code sent to that address, or with Microsoft if your organization uses it.
In the list they show as Invited, with Not yet signed in under Last active. If the email could not be sent, you are told so. Use Re-send invitation from the … menu on their row to try again.
From the same menu you can:
- Make Org admin or Make Org editor to change their role.
- Deactivate them. They are signed out of this organization immediately and cannot sign back in. Their past work stays in the audit log.
- Reactivate someone who was deactivated.
An organization must keep at least one active Org admin, so the last one cannot be deactivated or made an editor.
You might see That person already has access to this organization. if they are already on the list.
If your organization signs in with Microsoft, roles can also be assigned from Microsoft under Organization Settings → Sign-in & security, in Who gets which role.
