What you see
One of these in Check-in mode:
- There is no signal, and the door list has not been downloaded on this device. Open this page once with a signal before the doors open.
- A scan shows Not recognised with The door list was never downloaded on this device, so it cannot check anyone in without a signal.
- A banner says No signal. Check-in keeps working from the list on this device. or Back online., with a count of check-ins waiting to be sent.
- After a check-in: Recorded on this device. It will be sent when the signal returns.
- A scan shows Not registered with Not on the door list. A ticket can be sold once the signal returns.
Why it happens
Check-in mode downloads the door list each time it opens with a signal, and keeps it in the browser on that device. Without a signal it checks people in from that list. A device that has never opened Check-in mode for this event with a signal has no list, so it cannot check anyone in offline.
Each check-in made without a signal is kept on the device and sent later. Until it is sent, the event page and other devices do not show it. When it is sent, it keeps the time it happened, and a check-in already recorded from another device is left as it is.
Someone who registered after the list was downloaded is not on it. Offline, you cannot sell a ticket, use Someone new at the door — sell a ticket, or Undo a check-in.
Fix
- Before the doors open, open Check-in mode for the event on every phone or tablet you will use, while you have a signal. Check the line at the bottom: Door list downloaded at a time.
- Use the same browser on the same device at the door.
- When the signal returns, check-ins are sent by themselves. To send them straight away, click Send now on the banner.
- Click Refresh at the top to send anything waiting and download a fresh door list, for example after late registrations.
- Read the message after sending. It says how many check-ins were sent, and how many could not be recorded.
If that doesn't work
Tell the 2Labs team the event name, the device and browser you used, how many check-ins the banner says are waiting, and the exact message you saw after clicking Send now.
