Check people in as they arrive by scanning their membership card or event ticket, or by finding them by name. Check-in mode is built for a phone and keeps working without a signal.
Before you start
- The event must be published.
- Open Check-in mode on the phone or tablet you will use at the door, once, while you have a signal. It downloads the door list then. Without that download it cannot check anyone in offline.
- To scan, allow the browser to use the camera.
Steps
- Go to Events, open the event and click Check-in mode. From the events list you can also click Check-in on the event.
- Click Scan a card or ticket and point the camera at the code. You can also paste a code into Or paste the code from a card and click Check.
- For someone without their phone, type their surname under No phone? Find them by name and click Check in beside them.
- Read the result:
- Checked in — with their name, standing, ticket, and anything still to pay.
- Already checked in at a time.
- Not registered — if they are allowed to register, a button offers to Sell a ticket at their price.
- Not recognised — the code is not one of your organization's cards or tickets.
- Click Next person. If you checked in the wrong person, click Undo.
- For someone new, click Someone new at the door — sell a ticket, enter their name and email, record the payment and click Take payment and check in.
What happens next
The counts at the top show Checked in, To come and Registered.
Standing is read from the member's record at the moment of the scan. A member whose membership has lapsed is still let in on the ticket they bought, and a task is raised for the office to follow up.
Without a signal, check-in carries on from the door list on the device. Each check-in is kept on the device and sent when the signal returns; a banner shows how many are waiting, with Send now. Use Refresh to send them and download a fresh list. Offline, you cannot sell tickets or undo a check-in.
If the event earns continuing-education credits, they are posted to each person when they are checked in. Undo withdraws them.
Someone found by name who is on record but not registered shows Look up, so you can check whether they can be sold a ticket.
