A Find a receipt page lets donors get copies of their tax receipts themselves. They sign in with their email and a one-time code; no account or password is needed.
Before you start
- You're an Org admin. Members can see forms but can't create them.
- Stripe isn't needed for this page.
Steps
- Go to Communications → Forms and click New form.
- On Find a receipt, click Use template.
- Under Form basics, set the Form name, Headline and Intro text. The builder also shows Fields and What happens on submit; the Find a receipt page doesn't use them.
- Click Publish.
- Share the page. From the form's ⋯ menu, use Open live form to get its link, or Copy embed code to put it on your website.
What happens next
Once the page is published, the Annual (year-end) receipt email includes a line telling donors they can retrieve their receipts anytime, with a link to the page. Without a published page, that line is left out.
On the page, the donor:
- Enters their Email address and clicks Email me a code.
- Enters the 7-digit Sign-in code and clicks Verify & continue. The code expires after 10 minutes. Resend code sends a new one.
- Sees their receipts by year, and clicks Email or PDF on any of them, or Email all … receipts to me.
The page only re-sends and downloads receipts that already exist. It never issues a new one. Voided receipts don't appear. A re-sent receipt keeps its number. If the email has no receipts, no code is sent, but the page looks the same so no one can check who gives to you.
There's no setting for a support email on this page yet, so its Contact us line isn't a link. The Support email you set on your Manage giving form is used only on that form. A donor already signed in on your Manage giving page doesn't need to sign in again.
