Donors takes online donations through Stripe. Connecting sets up your charity's own Stripe account, so donations go straight to it and your charity is the merchant of record.
Before you start
- You're an Org admin. Members see "Only an organization admin can manage integrations."
- Have your charity's legal name, address and business details ready, and the bank account for payouts.
Steps
- Go to Organization Settings → Integrations and find the Stripe card. It shows Not connected.
- Click Connect Stripe. Donors sends you to Stripe's secure setup.
- On Stripe, sign in or create an account, and enter the details Stripe asks for, including your payout bank account. Stripe collects these directly; Donors never sees or stores your Stripe secret keys.
- When you finish, Stripe returns you to Integrations and Donors refreshes the status.
- Check the card. It shows Connected, your connected account, and three status pills: Charges enabled or Charges off, Payouts enabled or Payouts off, and Details submitted or Details pending.
- If you see Finish setup on Stripe, click it to go back to Stripe and complete what's missing. Then click Refresh status.
What happens next
Once the card shows Charges enabled, you can publish donation forms and use the Donation and Manage giving form templates. Each successful payment creates a gift in Gifts. Use Stripe dashboard on the card to see payouts and payments in Stripe.
Disconnect stops new and recurring donations from processing right away. Your Stripe account and past gifts stay intact, and you can reconnect any time.
