Smart nudges create tasks for you so no donor slips through. An Org admin turns them on and sets them in Organization Settings → Automations. Members can view the page, but see "Only an organization admin can change these settings."

Details

Master switch. The Smart nudges switch at the top turns all nudges on or off. When it's off, you'll see "Turn on Smart nudges to configure the rules below."

The nudges. Each card has its own switch and a Settings section:

  • New-donor thank-you creates a task to thank a donor after their first gift. Set Due within to 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7 days. It closes when you send the donor an email or complete the task. Only a donor's first gift, dated in the last 14 days, counts.
  • Failed monthly gift creates a follow-up task when a recurring gift fails to charge. The card shows "Connect Stripe to enable this nudge. Recurring-gift failures come from Stripe."
  • Lapsed donor creates a reconnect task when a past donor hasn't given in a while. Set Lapse after (60, 90, 120 or 180 days, or 1 year) and Who counts as lapsed (Any donor with a prior gift, Donors with 2 or more gifts, or Previously recurring donors). The task closes when the donor gives again. Donors checks for lapsed donors once a day.

Who gets the tasks. Under Global settings, choose a Default assignee, or leave it Unassigned.

Going forward only. Nudges apply from when they were turned on. Turning one on never creates tasks for past activity.

Auto-created tasks appear in Tasks. The link at the bottom of the page shows how many nudges were created in the last 30 days, and View them opens Tasks.
