When your site requires approval, editors' changes wait in Approvals for a site admin to review before anything goes live.

Before you start

  • You're a Site admin.
  • Approval is turned on under Site Settings → Publishing (Require approval before publish). A number on Approvals shows when something's waiting.

Steps

  1. Open Approvals. Each item shows the page or content, who submitted it, and when.
  2. Click Review to see what changed, along with the editor's note.
  3. Click Approve & publish to send it live, or Reject… and add a reason.

What happens next

An approved change publishes like any other — the live site updates in a minute or two. A rejected change goes back to the editor with your note and a Fix & resubmit button.

Editors can follow their own submissions in Approvals too, so they can see where a change stands without asking.
