A call to action (CTA) is a button that points visitors somewhere that matters — Donate, Find a program, Volunteer. A Hero takes up to two buttons and a CTA banner up to three.
Before you start
- Open the page in the Editor and switch to the Page tab.
- Open the hero or CTA banner you want the button on. If the page doesn't have one yet, add the block first.
Steps
- In the block's fields, find the buttons list, labelled Ctas, and click + Add cta.
- Type the Label — the words on the button. Keep them short and active, like "Find the right program".
- Click Set link and choose where the button goes: a Sites page, a Web address or a File.
- Choose a Variant for the button's colour. Solid — automatic suits most buttons. The others are Solid — brand colour, Solid — second colour, Solid — light, Solid — dark and Outline.
- To change the order of the buttons, use Move up and Move down.
- Click Publish (or Submit for approval).
What happens next
When a block already has as many buttons as it takes, the editor tells you to remove one before adding another.
Under each button the editor shows Tracked in analytics as, with the name the button is counted under — see "How do I know if my buttons are working?".
Prefer plain words? On the Chat tab, ask the assistant to "add a Donate button to the hero" and it adds and fills the button for you.
