Archived donors are hidden from every other list and don't count toward your plan's contact limit. You can bring one back at any time.
Before you start
- You're an Org admin.
- A deleted donor can't be restored. Only archived donors appear here.
Steps
- Go to Organization Settings → Data & audit.
- Scroll to Archived donors.
- Search for the donor with Search archived donors….
- Check the badge. Archived means someone set the donor aside. Merged means the record was merged into another one; the note under it names the record that now holds its history.
- Click Restore. You'll see "… restored to active."
What happens next
The donor shows in People again and counts toward your plan's contact limit. A donor with no giving is restored as a Prospect.
Restoring a Merged record doesn't undo the merge. Its gifts, receipts and history stay on the record it was merged into, so the restored record comes back empty.
To archive a donor, set their Stage to Archived on their edit screen.
